Group Structure
The groups within the club are based on the days of practice expected for the swimmers.
COMP-3 (3 practices/week)
Monday-Wednesday-Friday this is the typical entry level group for the club. Swimmers are 10 and under for the majority of the year.
Commitment Expectation
- Maintain 90% attendance per month
- May miss 2 meets from the meet calendar
- Expect other social, school, sport activities
Work Ethic Expectation
- On deck on time (parents)
- In the water for warm-up on time (swimmers)
- Willingness to change stroke
Swimmers are expected to strive for Personal Best times (PB's) and going fast means going fast 'while holding good technique'. Swimmers will have lots of opportunity for 'fun'.
COMP-4 (4 practices/week)
Swimmers work with the coach to identify 4 practice opportunities through the week. Swimmers are 11 to 13 through the majority of the year.
Commitment Expectation
- Maintain 90% attendance per month
- May miss 1 meets from the meet calendar
- Expect one other social, school, sport activities at a time
Work Ethic Expectation
- On deck on time (parents) and In the water for warm-up on time (swimmers)
- Ability to perform all drills
- No cheating on drills or workout
- Begin to understand the difference in effort levels
Swimmers are expected to strive for time standards and begin working on setting goals.
COMP-5 (5 practices/week)
Swimmers work with the coach to identify 5 practice opportunities through the week. Swimmers are at least 13 years of age through the majority of the year.
Commitment Expectation
- Maintain 90% attendance per month
- May miss 1 meets from the meet calendar
- Expect one other social, school, sport activities at a time
Work Ethic Expectation
- On deck on time (parents) and In the water for warm-up on time (swimmers)
- Ability to perform all drills
- No cheating on drills or workout
- Begin to understand the difference in effort levels
Swimmers are expected to strive for Central Region time standards as a minimum and begin working on setting realistic goals.
COMP-6 (6 practices/week plus dryland)
Swimmers will attend all offered practice sessions through the season. Swimmers are at least 13 years of age through the majority of the year.
Commitment Expectation
- Maintain 90% attendance per month
- All meets (Invitational and championship) will be planned with the coach
- Expect no other social, school, sport activities at a time
Work Ethic Expectation
- Set the standard for the rest of the club. First in, last out.
- Able to demonstrate all drills
- Race tactic and strategy defined
Swimmers are expected to strive for specific time standards, or times as a minimum and begin working on setting realistic goals.
